APPLE DUMPLING WORKDAYS

On two Saturdays in September 2008 40-50 Friends from 6 months to 94 years met together to work on apple dumplings.  From 1 PM to 2:30 PM each Saturday afternoon close to 2800 dumplings were made and frozen. To all those who helped with this year's dumpling making, we thank you.  Oct. 1-4, baked dumplings were sold at Winchester's Mardi Gras celebration around the square.  Winchester Friends set up a tent on Washington Street in front of the meetinghouse to sell baked dumplings, barbeque beef sandwiches and drinks.  Over 1300 dumplings were baked and sold through the booth and kitchen in four days.  900 frozen dumplings were sold.  Over $4500 taken in during the event. Currently we have around 600 dumplings left to sell, but they are going fast.  Please call the church office for orders.

Ben Kritsch takes a break from resting his leg to help Bettye Monks and Murray Schemmer. The booth was open from 5 PM to 9 PM Wednesday through Saturday.  The last baked apple dumpling was sold on Saturday night at 7:40 PM.  This year we increased the number of baked dumplings by 300.
